Favorite Friday Five?

blog2

I don't know if I'll be able to keep up with this every Friday but I have five minutes and I have five things I'm currently liking so here we go...

1. Novel- Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
January 26 2011

I know I'm a few years behind with reading this book but better late than never. I'm not usually a fan of fiction but this story siphons you in with its strong character development and graphic landscape to the point where you can almost smell the circus and sense Jacobs’s eyes straying onto Marlena. The movie, which I had seen first, changed the timeline a bit and some characters were condensed but the it still did a great job of capturing the malevolent & twisted manner of August and the wonder of running away with the circus.

2. These Jerks A.K.A The kittens I'm socializing.
kittenz

Okay, I lied-they’re not really jerks. My mom, sister and myself trapped them from a backyard and after their mother left them; they needed socializing in a home with human contact. When we first got them, all they did was hiss and scratch but now, after many hours spent on the bathroom floor, they are becoming the sweet kittens we knew they could. Presently, at about 8 weeks, they’ll be able to take the trip to the vet to get vaccinated and then off to homes. I’m getting attached- it’s just funny how you never knew you needed something in your life until you meet a kitten- insta happiness.

3. Robyn

I kept seeing Robyn popping up all over the place-TV; blogs, radio and I could only remember her as someone who was trying to revive a one-hit wonder from the early 2000’s. I changed the channel, scrolled the page, and turned the station until about last week. I was listening a song I didn’t even know was her and fell in love with it and therefore have been jamming out to her all week. May I recommend:

4. Red Hair

This was the photo I sent my hairdresser for hairspiration and I was as pleased as punch to see when she showed up with three tubes of “ROJO” dye. Well, it didn’t turn it like the photo (when does it ever) but I’ll get there. My hair still looks dark brown, until I step into the light and then it looks like someone lit my on fire. She said it would take a few applications before I really start to see the red I want- Oh well.

5. Latte

Last but never ever least, my love affair with coffee is still hot and heavy. This is me, on this rainy humid Friday morning, sipping on my latte from Dunkin Donuts. Coffee never lets me down, it’s my friend, and it gets my through many of rough days.

Happy Friday Everyone!
